Kate de Groot

Dr Kate de Groot has a passion to deliver up to date Endodontic treatment (root canal treatment) in a calm and relaxed manner. She has a very caring and compassionate nature and this is reflected in her rapport with her patients.

Endodontics is evolving all the time and Kate strives to produce excellence from her work by using the latest advances in technology. All her work is done using a dental operating microscope. Sometimes 2D imaging from dental radiography (xrays) doesn’t give enough information for diagnosing and treatment planning certain cases. Small volume CBCT scans have enhanced endodontic practice by allowing us to view teeth, the bone and structures around them in 3D field. This has become so important in endodontics, making sure that the best treatment option is provided.

Kate qualified in 2000 from the Royal London Hospital and since then she has been working in general practice. She had a special interest in endodontics. This led her to persue a two year post graduate Diploma in Endodontics, at the world renowned Eastman Dental Hospital. Kate successfully completed the diploma in september 2015 being awarded a merit. She has been taking referrals from dentists since 2015 and has worked in a specialist endodontic practice from january 2021 to june 2023. Kate is a member of the British Endodontic Society and regularly goes to the spring and autumn meetings to be kept up to date with the latest ways of thinking when it comes to endodontic treatment.

Kate is approachable and is always willing to discuss cases with referring dentists to make sure that patients get the best care.

Kate lives in West Sussex with her husband and three children. She has a passion for tennis and is the club captain at her local club. She also enjoys going to the gym with her family and walking with their two dogs. They all enjoy cooking together as a family. She has a dream to visit as many places around the world as possible. To date Dubrovnik is her favourite city.
