About Yogesh

Dr Yogesh Wadher, Yogi to almost everybody, has been treating gum disease since 2005. One of his first patients was his mother. He still looks after her.

When he plans treatment, he asks himself: would I do this on my own mum? It is not a slogan. It is why he will tell you when a tooth can be saved and when it cannot. He prides himself on clear, open, and honest advice, backed by the most up-to-date and advanced dental techniques.

Yogesh is a GDC-registered Specialist in Periodontics and one of the two founders of Neyo Dental Specialists, which he set up with Neil in 2022. He has been carrying out surgical dental treatment for over fifteen years and has been placing implants since 2013.

What Yogesh treats

  • Gum disease, from early treatment through to periodontal surgery and regeneration
  • Dental implants – single teeth, bridges, implant-retained dentures, and full arches on four or six implants, using Straumann implants, one of the most extensively researched implant systems available
  • Advanced bone grafting: lateral window sinus grafting, the Khoury technique for advanced bone regeneration, and intra-oral bone harvesting
  • Peri-implantitis and failing implants, including implants placed at other practices
  • Surgical and complex tooth removal, wisdom teeth, and coronectomy

    • Training and hospital background

    Yogesh spent eight years in hospital oral and maxillofacial surgery before he specialised. He started as a Senior House Officer and then advanced to Speciality Dentist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Along the way, he worked at Manchester Royal Infirmary, the Royal Sussex County Hospital, and Guy’s and St Thomas’.

    In 2011 he began four years of specialist training in periodontology and implant dentistry at King’s College London, and joined the GDC specialist register in 2016. He has accepted oral surgery referrals since 2010, and has worked exclusively in periodontology and implant dentistry across Sussex since 2013.

    Teaching and the ITI

    Since 2025, Yogesh has been a Director of an ITI Study Club — the local teaching group of the International Team for Implantology, where implant clinicians meet to present cases to one another. The useful evenings are the ones where somebody brings a case that did not go to plan.

    He is a member of the ITI, the British Society of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology.

    Outside the practice

    Yogesh lives in Mid-Sussex with his wife and their two daughters. He cycles, he skis, and there is usually music on. He founded the practice with Neil, a close friend as well as a business partner, which makes for a relaxed and collaborative working environment.

    A patient once told him: “Yoga saved my life, but Yogi saved my teeth.”
