Step One

Meet our brace specialist

Whether you have been referred by your dentist, or booked the appointment yourself, we look forward to welcoming you to Neyo where you will meet our Orthodontist for a completely free consultation.

During this 30 minute appointment, we’ll check your teeth, and we’ll discuss treatment options and costs with you. We will take a 3D digital scan of your teeth at this appointment, so we can look closely at your concerns together, and give you an idea of what transformations are possible.

Step Two

Your personalised treatment plan

Once you have chosen Neyo for your orthodontic treatment, we will take any necessary x-rays, photographs and will create a bespoke treatment plan based on your objectives and preferences. You will receive a detailed report after this step, which will outline all the information relevant to your treatment.

Step Three

Fitting braces

Fitting braces can take anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes. There is no pain involved with this appointment. We don’t use drills and we don’t use injections. Once the braces have been fit, we will show you how to look after your braces.

Depending on your treatment plan, you will normally return approximately every 6 weeks to have your braces adjusted. These appointments typically take about 20 minutes. Occasionally you may need to return for additional appointments if you are having any problems with your braces.

Step Four

The big reveal

The day you’re looking forward to! Once you and your orthodontist are happy with the results, we will plan removal of the braces. Normally fixed retainers will be fit to the back of the front teeth the day the braces are removed. The teeth will be cleaned and polished to leave them looking beautiful. We can discuss tooth whitening or mouthguards at this stage.

Step Five

Wearing retainers

We want to make sure that your new smile is permanent. Retainers are used to make sure your teeth stay straight. They can be fixed (thin discreet wire on the back of the front teeth) or removable (clear plastic night time retainers). We like to play it safe so will normally provide you with both. We will see you every 6 months for a couple of years to check your retainers and make sure your teeth are still looking beautiful. We will always be available to see you, no matter when your braces were removed, if you’re worried about anything.

We hope you’ve learned a little more about how we’ll work with you and look after you along the way. You can always contact us for any more info you may need.
