There’s a great appeal to go to Turkey for full mouth dental implants, specifically the All-on-4 treatment. Patients believe they’re receiving the exact same treatment and brand as in the UK, while also getting a package holiday and hotel transfers covered.
It sounds like a win-win, right? But we’ve been the dentists on the other side of the chair when it all goes terribly wrong. And we can’t help but feel uneasy after reading and seeing some of the marketing on these Turkish websites.
Hence, the blog post – which isn’t a ploy to gain your custom, but rather to educate you on what’s really happening and help you understand the risks before you make a decision because the harsh reality is, if something does go wrong, you’ll find it extremely hard to find someone in the UK who will help and face extremely high costs to rectify the work.

The new smile promise vs the painful reality
All-on-4 dental implants in Turkey are heavily marketed as quick, cheap “new smiles in a week”, which terrifies us. While All-on-4 is an immediately loaded treatment, patients can only receive their final teeth three months later, once there’s been enough time for the implants to fuse with the bone.
In one week in Turkey, patients will typically undergo bone grafts, receive more dental implants than necessary (not All-on-4 treatment) and leave with their final set of teeth – and then wonder why it goes wrong and the dental implants fall out when a process that usually takes 3-6 months has been crammed into one week.
> Take a look at a recent case where a lady now has a collapsed septum as a result of severe complications – and she’s not the only horror story.
The reality of All-on-4 in Turkey more often than not is patients returning in pain, with infections or loose, mispositioned implants, broken bridges, no aftercare, no support and nowhere to turn.

“We use the same brands” – most of it is just misleading marketing
We’ve been on the same All-on-4 dental implant Turkey websites that you have. But we have the advantage of knowing what to look out for more closely. Learn the facts.
A common sales line we see is “We use the same implant brands as the UK” – we’ve even seen the logos of these brands. But looking at the package’s small print shows that the brand of implant and components is different, especially in the very cheap tiers. That matters.
Dental implant systems are not like LEGO. Mixing and matching parts, using unproven clones or unregistered components, compromises fit, hygiene and longevity – not to mention, using different systems means dentists in the UK cannot help or step in as easily.
For example, we’ll need different instruments and tools that we’d have to track down and ship to us if something goes wrong – and these are systems not internationally recognised, so we’re not trained or even confident in what’s being used, hence why a lot of dentists will not accept your case.
To bypass this, we would recommend getting in writing:
- The exact implant brand, model, surface, and abutment system
- The UDI/lot numbers are to be recorded in your notes.
- Confirm which lab will make your bridge and what materials they’ll use.
- Ask who is placing the implants (name, registration, years of experience).
- What aftercare is guaranteed in writing?
In the UK, our dentists are regulated by bodies like the GDC, which you can contact if you need to complain or have a problem. You won’t have that when you go to Turkey. So ensure to cover qualifications, guarantees, aftercare, and complaint process.

Dentists in the UK might be more expensive, but they’re reputable – using well-researched, backed brands like Straumann and NobelBio Care
Dental implants placed in the UK have a strong success rate of 90% and above due to the brands used – they’re the best of the best, supported by extensive research and long-term data.
Plus, brands like Straumann offer lifetime guarantees on their implants and components, which is critical for long-term maintenance.
Our implants
- High-quality, strong titanium implants with data to demonstrate reliability and effectiveness.
- SLActive® surface technology to improve integration with the bone quickly and effectively.
- Faster osseointegration and overall dental implant stability.
- Versatile implant designs and sizes to accommodate different clinical needs and anatomical conditions.

Red flags we keep seeing in failed All-on-4 cases from overseas
- One-week promises for complex full-arch cases with minimal diagnostics
- Template treatment plans (everyone gets 4 implants per jaw, regardless of bone)
- Brand bait-and-switch between advertising and the final invoice
- No written aftercare or a “guarantee” that requires you to fly back for basics
- No periodontal assessment before implants (gum disease untreated = higher risk)
What safe looks like (our typical approach)
- Full diagnostics: 3D CBCT scans, digital bite analysis, periodontal work-up
- Personalised plan: implant number/position based on your bone and bite
- Reputable systems: e.g., Straumann® with traceable components
- Staged loading when needed (we don’t force immediate loading if biology says “wait”)
- Written aftercare: scheduled reviews, hygiene support, and a clear maintenance plan
