Book an appointmentWhat does the treatment involve?
1During your consultation with our specialist, we listen to your concerns and goals, take precise scans and images, and check you are suitable for full arch rehabilitation using implant-retained dentures.
2We use advanced technology to accurately plan your treatment, determining the amount of dental implants needed for your case. Most people have a minimum of two, but up to six can be fitted for extra stability.
3The titanium implants are inserted into your jaw by our expert implant dentist, using local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort. It takes several months for your implants to heal and fuse to your jawbone, so we fit a temporary lightweight denture so you are not without teeth in this time.
4When your implants have fully healed, we fit them with small connectors called abutments. Your custom denture of beautifully natural-looking teeth is then snapped or clipped onto the abutments, ensuring maximum stability and easy removal.

FAQs
Implant-retained dentures, also known as clip-on dentures, are a full arch of natural-looking artificial teeth anchored securely in place by 2-6 dental implants. The titanium implants are surgically placed into the jawbone, with the denture securely clipping or snapping onto them. This holds the denture firmly in place, preventing any slipping or shifting when eating, talking or smiling.
At our Burgess Hill clinic, implant dentures start from , depending on the complexity of your case. The cost of treatment covers the total number of implants, abutments, dentures, surgical treatment and aftercare. We also offer finance payment options, giving you the chance to spread the cost, subject to status*.
Implant-retained dentures are considered to be a superior alternative to normal dentures. They offer significantly more stability and comfort, and do not rely on suction or adhesive to stay in place. They also leave the roof of your mouth exposed for a more natural feel. With permanent implant dentures, you can eat without restrictions, as chewing, eating and speaking are all much easier than with traditional dentures. They also help preserve the remaining bone in your jaw.
Yes, implant-retained dentures are designed to be a removable prosthetic that you can easily clip on and take off yourself. This allows you to comfortably remove them at home for regular cleaning and daily oral hygiene maintenance.
If you are hoping to receive denture implant treatment, you will need good oral health and sufficient bone in your jaw to properly support the implants. Ideal candidates are also people with wobbly or unsecure dentures that would like a more solid smile. If you’ve been told you don’t have enough bone in your jaw for implant dentures, our specialists can discuss your options and carry out pre-prosthetic treatments to ready you for dental implants.
The treatment time for implant dentures is around 12 weeks from start to finish. You’ll get:

- A prosthetic that does not rely on suction to stay in place
- Secured implant dentures that offer the least degree of movement
- A prosthetic that keeps the roof of the mouth (palate) exposed
- Multiple Straumann implants known for their precision
- Long-term stability and accelerated healing process
- Expert-led treatment with prosthodontists, oral surgeons and implant dentists
